iPhone 3G Hits Stores 8am 11th July, 2008
How exciting and lucky it is, for people who will have the spanking new iPhone 3G hitting their shores on 11th July, 2008. Although Apple mentioned that Apple Stores will be opened extra early on 11th July, 2008, at 8am, they did not mention which time zone they meant.

Also, I do not know what about the other countries which will have the iPhone debut on the same day, 11th July, 2008. Will the iPhone 3G be available the next day or at the same time as the 8am mentioned by Apple, meaning it could be 8pm or even midnight.

Whatever it is, I so want to get hold of an iPhone 3G. I need 3G. It has been more than two weeks since lightning struck and fried my wifi router and I have not used my iPhone beyond its alarm clock feature and a game or two of Othello. SIGH!

Are you going to queue up for your iPhone 3G? At this point of writing, it’s still not 8am, 11th July, 2008 in the United States yet. ENVY!!!!

That’s right. And to see that some less developed countries getting the iPhone 3G on 11th July, 2008…urgh… Malaysia is really slow.
Here in Melbourne people are also lining up to buy the new iphone. But we’re locked in from 12-24 months with the telecommunication provider.

Hi Fadhli,
Thanks for the information.
That’s because service providers have to pay Apple US$300 per unit of iPhone.
People in the United States will also have to tie up with AT&T for 2 years. They can opt out of this by paying an additional US$399 but would still have to subscribe to AT&T’s other telephony services that is not tailored for 3G iPhone.

It’s not even available in Malaysia on 11th July. Only selected countries.
