Can You Access Windows Live Hotmail On iPhone?
A week ago, I suddenly could not access Hotmail on my iPhone anymore. I did a search on the internet and realised that this is an old issue with Mac users. As you know, Hotmail is a Microsoft product and Microsoft and Apple, the owner of Mac and iPhone are competitors.
The problem is not so much the iPhone but its browser, Safari. Yes, Mac runs Safari as well. From the hits that I have been getting for my blog posts on this issue, it seems like I was not the only affected. It happened at about the same time to iPhone users in America and England as well.
Sometimes, we would get a message that the User ID or password is wrong or sometimes there was no error message at all and we would be continually looped to the sign in page.
A reader said that according to an iPhone staff, upgrading to the latest firmware would solve this problem. I did not upgrade because I am currently so busy, I would not have the time to tinker with the iPhone should anything go wrong.
Moreover, this past week, my broadband internet is down and I do not have wi-fi connection. However, this morning when I managed to get wi-fi on my iPhone, I successfully logged in to my Hotmail account.
So what does this mean? Is it Safari problem or has MSN found a solution for Mac and iPhone users? Is there a need to upgrade to the latest Apple iPhone firmware?
